Description:

Drumkv1 is an old-school drumkit sampler designed and developed by rncbc (aka. Rui Nuno Capela) and is part of the Vee One Suite (which includes Padthv1, Samplv1 and Synthv1). It can run as a standalone instrument or as an LV2 plugin within a DAW setup such as Ardour or QTractor. It can run in a Jack or Non Session Management (NSM) session, and has Jack Midi and Alsa Midi support. And, like all other Vee One Suite instruments, it's free, open source, and distributed under the terms of the GNU GPL (General Public License), version 2 or later.

Drumkv1 offers a visual layout similar to that of Samplv1 and Synthv1. Initial use requires making a new preset, and loading samples of your choice for each midi note value (indicated in the window in the upper left area of the GUI). To the right, the "Env Time" knob is very useful for lengthening the sample playback time when using samples that include beats in them (eg. in the two demos provided above). Samples can be played forward or backwards, and a specific sample region can be selected.

Each note that has a sample assigned to it has its own settings of filter, pitch, LFO and amplitude. So if it is required to adjust the same setting (eg. filter cutoff) for each sample, assigning a hardware midi CC knob or slider will assist in making more rapid adjustment across the keyboard.

As with the other Vee One instruments, Drumkv1 also has a separate stereo effects page with global chorus, reverb, delay, flanger and phaser controls, as well as compression and limiter switches.
